Rico (formerly known as Mike) came to the Ranch as an owner surrender on February 11, 2023.  He was from a loving home that took him in after his former owner passed away.  The new owner took care of his needs and wormed him, trimmed his hooves, and did his best to care for him.  He was just a bit much for the new owner to handle as he is rather large and can be pushy on the ground.  He is a gelding around 16 years old.  He is halter broke, but not broke to ride.  He is very smart and tries to unlock the gates with his lips or by brute force of chest bumping them.  He needs work on trailering as he spent most of his life on the same property without much need to travel.  He could use some time learning patience standing tied.  He is not aggressive or reactive.  He is just big and has poor manners.  He does need sedation to get his feet trimmed.   He will make a great pasture pet and companion animal.  He has been easy to catch so far.  He just needs someone willing to put the time into him to make him a well mannered gentleman.  He is quite the handsome guy.
