Lightening

Lightening

Lightening came to the Ranch in February 2023.  He is estimated to be around 12 years old.  He came with his brother and son/nephew.  He was one of three miniature horse owner surrenders from a loving home that no longer had the means to care for them anymore.  He has lived with his family on the same farm for his whole life.

He has history of founder and his hooves are curled.  We are working with the farrier to get them as good as they can be.  This will take months to correct to the best it can be, but he most likely will always try to curl if not trimmed on a routine basis.  He will need a dry lot per vet and farrier recommendation.  He has been gelded.  His coggins is negative.  He has been vaccinated and had his teeth floated.  He trailers well and stands tied well (especially when being groomed).  Like ALL mini's he can be elusive to catch.

He and his family had their worlds turned upside down over night.  He was taken from everything he has ever known.  Despite all of this he has remained sweet and affectionate.  He stood well to be shaved when he arrived because he was covered in burs.  He has acted like a champ through all of this and was not reactive.  He does not kick, bite or rear.

Both of his horse family members have been adopted and he is the only one left.
