Meet the Board of Directors

Bill Brooks is a voting member of the board of directors.  Bill is married to Christine Brooks.  He is the Ranch's main transporter (aka the best at driving a trailer) as well as expert builder.  He has built run-ins and mini shelters for the horses and donkeys, as well as stalls and other necessary items.  He has many years of equine experience and his knowledge and easy going attitude makes him a favorite of the horses and dogs.  In addition to being a key member of the board Bill and Chris run their own farm.

Chris Brooks is a voting member of the board of directors.  She is married to Bill Brooks.  Chris is a retired RN with many years of medical experience as well as equine experience.  She is the brains (and beauty) behind the operations.  She has the determination and the grit to get the jobs done.  She has the knowledge and the experience with the animals to keep them safe and make sure that they learn to become good herd members.  She is our lead handler of the animals.  In addition to being a key member of the board Chris and Bill also run their own farm.

Wendy Wetzel is the mother of April Ream.  She is a voting member of the board of directors.  Wendy is the heart of the Ranch.  Wendy has a strong creative and artistic side and has a lot to offer in the way of fundraising and crafts.  She has a lot of canine experience and was invaluable during the rescue of the litter of puppies in 2022.  She woke up with these orphans every 2 hours and lost weeks of sleep just to keep them alive.  It is because of her that Oreo, Star, Bear and Bumble survived.

April Ream is married to Rusty Ream.  April is the CEO of the Ranch.  Her full time job is as a Nurse Practitioner in both the Emergency Departments and in Primary Care.  April has grown up with dogs and birds her whole life, but the donkeys and the horses are relatively new to her.  Where she lacks in the experience with the large animals she makes up for it in the determination to learn.  April is the driving force behind the Ranch.   

Sara Gare is a voting member of the board of directors.  Sara has limited experience with equine but lots of experience with the dogs and birds.  Sara is a tender spirit and is the soul of the rescue.  She has great interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills.  She is our talented secretary.  

Dr Matt Roehrs is a voting member of the board of directors.  Matt is calm and soft spoken and is a favorite of the horses.  In addition to his medical background as a physician, he also has has experience with livestock and horses and runs his own farm with his wife.  He is the level headed one of the board and the practical voice of reason.

Lynne Reed is a voting member of the board of directors.  If it was not for Lynne the Ranch would not exist.  She is the backbone of the operation and she is its rock.  She is the biggest supporter of the dream of the rescue.  She has the knowledge, the experience, the desire, the heart, the soul, the determination and...the voice of reason.  When times get hard she helps us find the way to make things work.  She is great at thinking outside the box, and also thinking like the animals think in order to get them to do things.  She is calm and patient and the animals love her.
